SKYE

From the current family:

“We are looking to rehome our five-year-old female Great Dane, Skye, due to an upcoming move. Unfortunately, she does not handle travel well, and relocating overseas would not be in her best interest. We also do not have anyone stateside who is able to take her in. Skye is a sweet, affectionate dog who does well with children and is friendly toward cats.  Though her size is often intimidating to both, especially when playing. She gets along well with other dogs, but does not live with any, and enjoys being part of a busy household.

One important note: Skye does not like interior stairs that are not carpeted. She will go up them but becomes very hesitant to go down. Outdoor stairs have never been an issue.

This decision has not been made lightly, and our priority is finding Skye a safe, stable home where she can continue to thrive and be loved as a family member. Preference will be given to experience with large dogs and/or off leash training experience.

EARL

From his current caretaker:

“Earl is an almost 4-year-old Great Dane looking for his forever home. Soon after Earl was adopted, his dad received military orders overseas for a year, and I offered to foster him.  Those orders have since been extended, and he will now be overseas for three years, possibly longer. My living situation is changing and with already having two older Great Danes, I’m unable to give Earl the time and attention he deserves, so we are looking for a new home for him.

Earl is a sweet, affectionate, and laid-back boy who loves to relax and be close to his people. He’s great with kids (older preferred because he is a lap dog and a leaner), good with cats, and gets along well with other dogs.  He knows sit, shake, and speak, and does okay on a leash.  He uses a dog door, and has never been destructive or aggressive. He’s okay being left home alone and is used to being on the couch and bed. Like most Danes, he can be a bit of a scaredy-cat at times and just needs some gentle reassurance. He’s also a little nervous about car rides but still enjoys going along with my other dogs.

Earl is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. This is a hard decision, and Earl deserves a loving, stable home.”

TEX

From Tex’s current family: “It is with a heavy heart that we are looking for a new family to love our boy. We’ve been put on orders for Korea and recently found out we’re expecting our third baby.  Tex is an 8 and a half year old Great Dane. He has been neutered. He loves lounging around the house and has a playful side still but he pitters out pretty quick. He’s lived with another dog his whole life but isn’t great with other dogs. He’s never been around a cat but lived with a bird who roamed the house often for 7 years that he loved. He is crate trained but hasn’t needed one for a few years now. He’s also house trained and walks well on a leash with a gentle lead. He’d be best in a house with older children only. He is protective of his house and yard but if he sees you let them in then he’s all love and wants pets. He is a sweet old man and doesn’t need a lot of space, just a big comfy bed with a window to look out to spend his days.”
